Welcome to the Wonderful World of

Alaskan Klee Kai!!

A lap sized Husky, or as we prefer, A Pocket Husky!   The Word Klee Kai means Small Dog.

The Alaskan Klee Kai is still considered a rare breed of dog.   They are registered with ARBA (American Rare Breed Association) and UKC (United Kennel Club).

When comparing an Alaskan Klee Kai to the larger Husky other than the striking resemblance to the larger breed, they are behaviorally almost opposites. While they are both Spitz breed dogs, the Alaskan Klee Kai is significantly smaller in size.   The Klee Kai have some, Alaskan Husky, Schipperke and Spitz in their blood.

They tend to be shy, skittish and wary around strangers, that being said they are incredibly loving and devoted to "their" family and are very loyal to those they love.

Klee Kai are a highly intelligent, curious and very active breed.   They love doing activities with "their" humans, and in fact will be quick to let you know they are unhappy if they don't get to.   Due to the shy nature, Klee Kai must be socialized very well from a very young age and constantly throughout their lives.  Just like their bigger counterpart, Klee Kai can have a very strong prey drive, so "off leash" is never a good idea, unless you are in a fenced in area and trust your dog.  Please see the article "Trust - A Deadly disease".

Please do your research.  This breed is Not for everyone.  While they fit our life style and are a very large part of our family, they may not necessarily fit yours.  The puppies are extremely cute, but they do grow up, and while they are still gorgeous animals, they can be difficult to deal with.  This is a lifelong commitment.  Please be sure you are ready to bring a new pet into your home for the life of that animal.  They are NOT disposable.
